Managing FMEA types
If you are a member of the "fmea-admin" group, click Site settings > FMEA types in the header banner to manage the FMEA types that are available in your site.
For a new site, we recommend that you review the predefined FMEA types and choose the type(s) that are closest to your team's analysis approach. You can then customize any of these types to meet your particular needs.
Create an FMEA type based on an existing standard
You can quickly create an FMEA type based on an existing standard by clicking the Select FMEA type icon.
Select a standard and then click Select. Enter a new Name and click Save. This creates an independent copy of the pre-configured settings that you can then customize to fit your specific needs.
Create a new FMEA type
If your preferred FMEA worksheet format is not a close fit to one of the pre-configured types, you also have the option to create a new type "from scratch." It will have only the minimum records and fields enabled so you can choose what else to enable and rename. To create a new type, on the FMEA types page, click the New FMEA type icon.
Enter at least a Name and click Create. Then follow the process in Customizing an FMEA type.
Delete an FMEA type
To delete an FMEA type that has never been used, select the row then click the Delete icon.
