Using AI assistance with FMEAs

You can use AI assistance when adding and editing FMEA records.

Adding multiple records

When using the worksheet view or the tree view, you can select multiple AI-generated suggestions to add multiple records at the same time.

  1. Right-click either a parent or sibling and choose AI assist > Add [record]. The available options depend on the record type you selected.
  2. For the current context, the AI assist window displays the top 10 suggestions retrieved from the database and the top 10 suggestions generated by the AI. Select the suggestion(s) that you want to use in the FMEA and click Add.

Adding or editing a single record

When using the edit panel to create a new record or to edit an existing record, you can select one AI-generated suggestion to enter or append to the record's description.

  1. Open the record properties and then click AI assist.

  1. For the selected record, the AI assist window displays the top 10 suggestions retrieved from the database and the top 10 suggestions generated by the AI. Select the suggestion that you want to use in the record and click Add. The text is appended to the end of the current record description.

How are AI suggestions generated?

The AI brainstorming suggestions in ReliaSoft Cloud are generated using an LLM + RAG approach (Large Language Model and Retrieval-Augmented Generation) that leverages cutting edge LLMs hosted by Microsoft Azure Web Services.

The prompt prioritizes content from similar FMEAs in your ReliaSoft Cloud site when applicable, but also includes suggestions generated by the model based on publicly available sources.

We maintain a stateless system and each generation is independent. Customer data is not stored by or used to train any of the models and no mixing of customer data occurs.

As with any other content generated via artificial intelligence, you are strongly advised to evaluate the relevance for your application and adjust as appropriate based on your own experience and expertise.
